Tongue Weight Scale | BetterWeigh™ Mobile Towing Scale

This video shows how to use the tongue weight scale feature on the CURT BetterWeigh™ mobile towing scale. With this feature, you can get an active readout of the tongue weight of your trailer right on your smartphone. This enables safer towing and easier setup.

The CURT BetterWeigh™ #51701 is a Bluetooth-enabled OBD2 device that wirelessly syncs with your smartphone to provide a variety of vehicle and trailer weights. This includes GCW, cargo weight, tongue weight and pin weight, as well as weight distribution setup and trailer brake gain.

To measure tongue weight with BetterWeigh™, start by choosing the weight range that best suits your vehicle-trailer setup. To set the range, tap the gear icon and select Tongue Weight. Then, select a weight range.

Next, tap the Tongue Weight feature on the homescreen of the BetterWeigh™ app. Before pressing Ready, make sure your vehicle and trailer are aligned and ready to be coupled. Step back from the vehicle and tap Ready. BetterWeigh™ will take an initial reading of your vehicle’s pitch.

Once the vehicle pitch is analyzed, lower the trailer tongue until the coupler is resting on the ball. Then, load your trailer, and start getting active, real-time readouts of how your tongue weight changes as cargo is added. Remember, tongue weight should be between 10 and 15% of the gross trailer weight.

CURT│Echo™ Brake Control Feature and Benefit

The Echo™ brake control is truly a brake control for the modern age. It easily plugs into your vehicle and wirelessly connects to your smartphone, allowing you to control and monitor all trailer brake activity right from your own device. It comes with a customizable app for Apple or Android phones, a portable design to easily switch between vehicles and a potted enclosure for lasting weather resistance.

Most things in this day and age can be accessed or controlled from a smartphone. With the Echo™ that includes your trailer brakes! It features a Bluetooth-enabled system that connects right to your device. There is no need for extra modules, controls, buttons or knobs. Your smartphone becomes the brake control monitoring unit in the cab of your vehicle.

The Echo™ brake control has one of the easiest installations in the industry. Very simply, it plugs into the standard 7-way RV blade socket at the rear of your vehicle and provides a socket to plug in the trailer harness. It Ts into the connection, going between the vehicle and trailer plugs, and it is completely non-invasive. It also features automatic calibration to help eliminate setup requirements.

The Echo™ trailer brake controller comes with a custom-designed app that can be downloaded for IOS or Android OS phones. With this app, the wireless brake control is able to connect to your smartphone and display brake control settings and activity. It also sends you status updates for your towing setup.

With its compact design and simple, plug-and-play installation, the Echo™ is designed to be extremely portable. You can easily transfer it between vehicles and use it with multiple trailers, as long as the vehicle and trailer have a 7-way RV blade connector. The Echo™ app allows you to store up to five different user profiles and unlimited trailer profiles.

Because the Echo™ trailer brake controller is made to be outside the vehicle, we engineered it for maximum weather resistance. It is constructed with a potted enclosure, meaning the inside of the unit is filled with an epoxy resin that seals off the internal components from moisture and the elements. This ensures long-lasting operation in spite of rain, snow, dirt, mud and more. The Echo™ also has silicone-coated ports for connecting to the 7-way RV blade plugs. This coating helps reduce vibrations and helps seal off the connection from rust and corrosion.

The Echo™ brake control is compatible with two to four trailer brakes (one to two axles) and can be used with low-voltage or PWM wiring systems. It is also compatible with cruise control and ABS brakes and has built-in reverse-polarity protection and short-circuit protection. The Echo™ comes with a limited lifetime warranty.

Firework Time!! Blowing up an UnderCover?

With 4th of July fast approaching we couldnt resist but try to blow up one of our UnderCover's. Using all over-the-counter fireworks, and with the Ast. Chief of the Logan-Rogersville Fire Dept. on hand, we threw everything we had at it with intensions of blowing it up....Think it stood up to the challenge? Check out the video and find out.
